We’ve had the pleasure of attending multiple renditions of the Old Church Concert Series last year. And they were excellent. Some of CT’s best homegrown musicians have played there during this series. The room is a beautiful old church. The sound is, well, miraculous. It’s fantastic. The vibe is very chill.
For me, one of the best things about this series is the fact that it is truly a listening room. The musicians don’t have to try and perform over lots of noise. The guests just want to listen to amazing music.
The show is 2 hours with 3 bands performing and sound produced by Telefunken microphones. You can also buy snacks and soft drinks.
The series runs September through May with the first show this season on September 15. Here’s the schedule with a few slots in April and May TBD.

Lisa Sanchez Gonzalez (lsg)
Lover of music and the visual arts, Lisa Sanchez Gonzalez is the insanity behind Strains of Uproar and lsg original photography. lsg specializes in artist and performer photography. She’s had the joy of photographing national bands including Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band, Ghost, Fleetwood Mac, TV on the Radio, Jason Isbell, Run the Jewels, Five Finger Death Punch, and In This Moment along with countless CT homegrown bands and performers.
Hailing from Hartford, CT, Lisa is a life- long music connoisseur. Growing up, her mother exposed her to everything from The Stones to Simon and Garfunkel to Earth, Wind, and Fire to Loretta Lynn…and everything in between. No genre was left unexplored in her vinyl collection. She saw her first concert at 14…Rod Stewart at the (then called) Hartford Civic Center. Thirty years later, it’s still her favorite pastime.
Lisa has two kids (grown!) and a day job. Her loves of music and photography have melded into a second career. And her love of CT keeps her promoting and pushing for local artists and performers. Lisa spends the greater part of her free time seeing and shooting live bands, performers, and artists and art work…and purchasing vinyl!
